In 2023 we have selected in first place the duo of Turkish artists :mentalKLINIK who work with the Madrid gallery Sabrina Amrani and who will be in residence during the months of May and June. Later we will have the Australian artist Joi Murugavell who works with the Madrid gallery Ponce + Robles who will be with us during the months of August and September.

:mentalKLINIK is a Brussels-based artist duo from Istanbul composed of Yasemin Baydar and Birol Demir who began their collaborative practice in 1998.

:mentalKLINIK strides with undisguised dexterity the invisible political strategies and the social dynamics by ultra-contemporary devices of an apparent lightness. Like a discoball, :mentalKLINIK shows are a selection of their multifaceted approach on their universe.

JAN VALLVERDÚ

Jan Vallverdú(1995 Barcelona) Vive y trabaja en Sant Just Desvern. Licenciado en Grado Superior en Il•lustración y Grado superior de Artes Aplicadas al muro en la Escuela Llotja de Barcelona 2018.

Sus inicios con la pintura empiezan con el graffiti y los murales en su adolescencia y su transición al estudio. Se dice que Jan Vallverdú reflexiona y explora actitudes y contradicciones de la sociedad contemporánea occidental.

JOI MURUGAVELL

Humor and play are integral to the life and art of Australian artist Joi Murugavell, a lesson she learned from her father as an elixir against life's absurdities. Behind the laughs is a desperate desire to understand her world, far from the influences of family, friends and her culture. Like a rope in a maze, her art is the process by which she navigates through the layers she has accumulated along the way. Joi's art is spontaneous and her characters often represent life experiences, capturing the beauty and pain of the human experience and the ever-changing soul.

Her art is often abstract, brilliant, biting, humorous and always on the edge between feeling good or looking for another way to finish bleeding.
